Overview

Youth Climate Action Fund grants enable young people to develop and implement solutions to local climate challenges within the City of Brisbane (Brisbane) local government area (LGA).

Objective

The Youth Climate Action Fund grants aim to deliver outcomes in alignment with Council's climate priorities: 

  • planting/greening
  • public and active transport
  • waste reduction/recycling
  • biodiversity.

Through the program, Council will award microgrants to support youth-led projects that address local climate issues.

Round Closes: Wednesday 26 August 2026 at 11.59pm (AEST)

Amount Per Application

From $1,500 to $7,500 (ex GST)

 

Eligibility

This section of the application form is designed to help you, and us, understand if you are eligible for this grant. It is important that you complete these questions before any others to ensure you do not waste your time applying for an unsuitable grant.

Before completing this application form, you should have read the program guidelines: Youth Climate Action Fund Guidelines.

It is expected that the project will be led by young people (15 - 24 year olds) and that an auspicing organisation will take responsibility for assisting young people to lead and apply for the funding. If successful, the auspice will receive and manage the funds, provide coverage for the activity under their public liability insurance, ensure the project is completed and acquitted on time and provide advice and support to the young people when needed.

Incomplete applications and/or applications received after the closing date will not be considered.

Eligible Entities

All organisations must:

  • be legally registered entities
  • be recognised as a non-profit or charitable organisation under local laws (unless public entity)
  • have a bank account in the organisation's name.
