If you answer NO to any of the following questions you are ineligible for a Lord Mayor’s Creative Fellowship. If you are unsure if you are eligible for funding you can contact Brisbane City Council on (07) 3403 8888 and ask to speak to the Creative Communities Team. 

Please refer to the Lord Mayor’s Creative Fellowships guidelines for the full list of eligibility criteria.

1. Do you live in the Brisbane Local Government Area (LGA)? * Required
If you are unsure of what Ward you live in, please enter your address into the ECQ website search tool or contact ECQ on 1300 881 665.
2. Are you a permanent resident or Australian Citizen? * Required
3. Are you over the age of 17 years at the time of submitting your application? * Required
4. Are you an emerging or early-career artist (less than 10 years’ professional practice)? * Required
5. Do you have an active Australian Business Number (ABN) in the applicant’s name and nominated address within the Brisbane LGA or can nominate an incorporated Auspice Organisation based in the Brisbane LGA that does? * Required
6. Are you a Brisbane-based artist, arts worker, cultural worker, creative producer seeking professional development opportunity and to advance your creative career * Required
7. Is your professional development opportunity structured; either from a recognised peak body organisation or arts and cultural expert with recognised professional standing. * Required
8. Will your grant activity start after 20 March 2026? * Required
This is the intended grant notification date.
9. Have you only applied for only one creative grant in the 2025-26 round with Brisbane City Council? * Required
You may apply for either Creative Sparks OR Lord Mayor’s Creative Fellowships. Applicants cannot apply for both grants.
10. Can you demonstrate financial and/or in-kind support from sources other than Brisbane City Council for the proposed project? * Required
You cannot apply for 100% of project costs.

If you answer YES to any of the following questions you are ineligible for a Lord Mayor’s Creative Fellowship.

12. Do you have any overdue Brisbane City Council grants? * Required
